The Recipe Processor 2000 can work over a local area network. This
allows you to set up recipe database sharing between many Recipe Processor
programs that are connected by a Local Area Network. When networking is enabled,
any cookbook can be accessed by any Recipe Processor program. Should two
or more try to access the same recipe at the same time, the first to read
the recipe becomes the owner of the recipe, with editing and viewing rights.
Others (secondary viewers) attempting to view the recipe at the same time
will be granted read only rights to the recipe.
Network Options:
Peer to Peer Sharing: When peer to peer sharing is selected, then
any Recipe Processor program on the network will be able to access any Recipe
Processor cookbook on the network.
Log On Required: One Recipe Processor on the LAN is designated as
the Server, and all others are designated as Clients.
They all share the Server database. No other database can be used. Users
are assigned passwords and access privileges by an Administrator, and must
Log On to use The Recipe Processor, and should Log Off when done. The
Administrator can assign new users, and access privileges
(Show me!).
